MHL Project Updates

On August 10th, 2011, MHL project members met at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia to discuss the future of the MHL project. This was the first meeting under our NEH Digital Humanities Startup Grant.

In upcoming months, we will be working to grow our MHL holdings by approaching other libraries and institutions holding medical material in the Internet Archive and requesting that they allow their material to be searched with ours by the simple expedient of adding the “medicalheritage” tag to their items. In addition to this, we will be broadening our categories of participation beyond the principal contributors to include new groups, such as collection contributors, and other supporters. You can read descriptions of these categories here.

This fall we will further engage with scholars, researchers, and students to learn more about their needs and to discuss how we can better support their work. If you have feedback for us, please, feel free to email us at medicalheritage (at) gmail (dot) com or leave a comment here or on our Facebook page. We would love to hear from you.

Going forward, the MHL will also be seeking to engage in new projects to add more material to our collections.

As always, for more from the Medical Heritage Library, please visit ourĀ full collection!
